I'm Gonna Make It After All

I'm in downtown Phoenix for this networking class.

Down here among the tall buildings, my mind immediately goes to the theme from the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

But this ain't Minneapolis of the early 70's, not at all. For one thing, it's a little warmer - no reason to wear the tam-o-shanter. And it's considerably larger, too. And much more Mexican.

Although they're trying to make it somewhat less Mexican - at least, less illegally Mexican. Arizona has a new law that states that the police are supposed to investigate if they believe that a person is an illegal alien.

I have no opinion on that issue, other than the obvious "the police are supposed to enforce the law? who'd'a thunk it?" but it has occurred to me that I don't have any proof of my citizenship. I'd better get some sort of proof, though. What, exactly, would that be? A birth certificate does no good - unless, of course, there is some way to prove that I'm the person to whom the birth certificate refers.

(A birth certificate has FOOTPRINTS, not fingerprints : )

So I reckon I'd best be on my best behavior while away from home, so that I don't get reported as being a possible illegal alien.

I think that dancing around downtown and throwing my tam-o-shanter in the air would be "probable cause".
