NO UKES!

Yesterday I said that I figured I'd go pick up a Ukulele at the Ukulele shop today, after we finished scubing (is "scuba" a verb?)

Last night, before turning out the light, I realized just how stupid that is.

I already know - or strongly suspect - that playing a ukulele is just OMTAWING, so why spend the money, time and effort to find that out?...I already play guitar and banjo (and I've played the mandolin, although it's been a long, long time) - I already know that strummed string fretted instruments, as a class, are ABOTAWING ("a bunch of things at which I'm not good") so adding another to the list is a poor use of my time - it involves a very low ROI (which is french for "king").

Now, possibly attempting violin - which is a non-strummed, non-fretted stringed instrument - might be a useful attempt (I remember that, while playing with Ethel's fiddle, I seemed to be able to make some appropriate noises with it) but no sense in throwing good money and time after bad.

I'm glad we had this little talk.

Now I've got to get up and get ready to go scuba diving (which, for some reason, I feel hesitant about doing - maybe the rational mind rejects the idea of going forty feet down in shark-infested waters?) and Ethel's yelling at me to get off the computer. But, at least, now that I've written this down, I won't be tempted to go get a ukulele.

Thanks for your support.
