It was getting to be That Time in the afternoon.

That Time is the period in the early-to-mid-afternoon when I start to get really groggy, and need caffeine. And when I went into the breakroom closest to my cubicle - dang. Only decaf.

With one eye closed, I headed off to the other end of the building; as it happens, right now we're undergoing some construction, and the good coffee machine in the call center has moved across the street. So I have to mosey down to the far end of this building to get coffee - and, by the time I need coffee, "mosey" is a generous term for my movements.

So, as I was moseying, I came across my friend Joel, moseying in the other direction. He was carrying something that looked like a large purple mosquito:

Joel was beaming - he seemed positively gleeful to be in possession of this perplexity. 'Hey, know what this is?"

"A mosquito?"

Nope - and that made Joel grin larger. He then pointed out - "see? it has one eye".

It was purple, and it had one eye - I could sense where this was going, but I had to look for more clues. Sure enough - those things on the side are wings.

And see the little musical notes suspended above him? That's right - he's "playing rock and roll music through the horn in his head".

It's a One-Eyed, One-Horned Flying Purple People Eater.
