That Ain't Red - It's Crimson
Well, my new Crimson iPod is supposed to arrive at the house today.
I'm not exactly excited, because it's my fourth (or fifth?) iPod.
But this one will be dedicated to sitting in the car. I won't be connecting/disconnecting it as I go into the office or to use it during my runs; the only times that it will be disconnected will be when I've taken it inside to refresh the playlists or update the software.
However, I will make certain that it is prominently placed, so that that beautiful Crimson color is visible against the black leather interior background : )
..but wait. Ethel doesn't like it when I "prominently display" something in the car, so I'll have to keep it hidden when I'm not in the car. Ethel has a thing about things getting stolen. I don't know why - we've had a few things stolen during our marriage, but not many (I can only think of two, offhand, during the last twenty-two years - a backpack with climbing equipment, and a bicycle. Both were left outside on the front porch of the respective houses, unattended) but it's not my place to convince Ethel otherwise - Either I'm going to have to come up with a solution that allows for the iPod to be visible when I'm in the car and invisible when I'm not, or I'm going to have to forego being able to view the pretty Crimson iPod while I'm in the car.
(There's also the option of ignoring Ethel - however, if I do that, and anything DOES happen to the iPod, then I might as well go to the doctor and ask to have my auditory nerves disconnected from my eardrum - otherwise, all I'll hear, day and night, sleeping and waking, is "I told you to make sure that nobody could see that iPod while you weren't in the car. Didn't I tell you that?" -- I'll die, and be laying out for viewing at the funeral home, and Ethel will write a note saying "Didn't I tell you not to do that?" and toss it into the coffin with me)
The crimson color comes natural to us Pucketts -

I have to admit - I do wish that we were born into fandom of a college that had a color that better suits our complexion - something with a nice khaki would do nicely. But "The Khaki Tide" simply doesn't roll off the tongue.

Yeah, the Tide may indeed be Crimson, but I believe that Utah wears red. :)

See, I *think* that Ollie thinks he is bothering us with the Utah comment. What he doesn't know is that we were so thrilled with any wins over 8 that the Sugarbowl was spring practice. :-) What he also fails to remember is we lived in Utah, went to Utah home games and LOVE Utah, so losing to such a good, well coached, (non-SEC) team was fine. You're gonna have to try harder than that Ollie.
OH - and how many weeks was your team ranked #1 this year? Hummm? :-)
