"You Had Me At Roll Tide"

Here's Ethel's bowl of alphabet soup :)
...Today we celebrate 21 years of marital bliss.
Last night I asked Ethel, I said "Don't you think 21 years of this silliness is enough? It's it time that we got on with our lives?" She didn't pay any attention to me at all :)
...It's kind of interesting that Ethel is a Bama Football fan. I suppose that a psychologist would call us hopeless codependent (although my therapist doesn't think so) in that we have both somehow taken on aspects of the others' personality, likes and dislikes (there was a cartoon that Ethel showed me some years back - an older couple sitting together, and one of them says to the other "Which one of us doesn't like broccoli?") I don't remember ever wanting to live in the American Southwest, and I couldn't have cared less about having a fireplace, but somehow those desires of KimPuckett's have become mine, as well.
I'm glad that I got the good stuff, like fireplaces and saguaros, and that didn't pick up her Yankee notions about basketball and watching cars drive around in circles; I'm sure that she's glad that she aquired a taste for Heinlein and Niven, but that she never started eating turnip greens.
There is a lot of our life that we picked up together, things that we would never have experienced without each other. I would never have gone back to college if Ethel hadn't
It's late afternoon, time for me to start heading home to my beloved. Of course, I have to make some stops along the way. That's part of being married, you know. "Honey, I love you so much! I can't wait until you get home this evening so we can celebrate our anniversary!...oh, by the way, can you stop at Costco and do this month's supply run on your way home? I'll leave supper for you...."
KimPuckett, thank you so much for marrying me : )

Allow me to posit that Kim doesn't like turnip greens because she's never had fresh turnip greens. The difference between canned and fresh turnip greens CANNOT be stressed enough. I personally will no longer abide canned greens now that there is a store in Decatur that always has fresh greens avaliable.
BTW- Happy Anniversary. She must be a Saint.

Do folks from Abalamba really say "posit"?
Ethel has her own notions about turnip greens. And I don't wish to push the issue, as she may force me watch cars driving around in circles in retaliation - or, even worse, guys bouncing balls while running up and down a court.

PS - Can I get a "roll tide"? !
