Finally Got My Katy Perry

Katy Perry, in the liner of her first released CD, points out that it (the CD itself) had been a long time coming.
I have to agree - I first heard her sing on the Danica Patrick site www.danicaracing.com (and she's not there anymore, so don't bother going to check. I just did :) - anyway, it was one of those sites where, as soon as the site comes up, music starts playing. I really don't like that, since I've usually got something playing already.
But by the time I could find the button to stop the music, I had already decided that I liked it. The girl was *cooking*.
But there wasn't a CD that I could buy; no MP3s at the iStore; I couldn't even find the lyrics listed anywhere. So I just listened to her on Danica's site, minimized that window and kept on going.
On Saturday we were at Circuit City because Silas
Fortunately Ethel was there, and she
BTW - for those of you who are blind, or completely devoid of testosterone - she isn't, actually, one of the boys. However, there was a hit single on this CD, calledI Kissed A Girl- when I say "hit single", I mean that it topped Billboard's chart (as an interesting coincidence, it was the 1000th #1 of the rock era). In fact, it topped the worldwide chart.
It's not (to my perception) a Lesbian tune at all; in fact, there's a bit of outrage in the GLBT community (yes, I know - that word looks like "Gilbert", but it means "Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transexual) because they say that the lyrics indicate that the song's protagonist only kissed the girl to get her boyfriend's attention.
There was another hit tune, as well, called UR So Gay - and that one is aimed at a metrosexual ("You're So Gay, and you don't even like boys...") and the Gilberts don't like that one, either. Seem's it's "homophobic".
Both of Katy's parents were pastors, and she grew up singing in the choir. I don't know what the congregation thinks about her new CD; but I do, indeed, definitely like it. She's got one of those voices that sounds like she's so full of a smile that it's going to bust out into the music - like the song, itself, will grin.
Imagine Alanis Morisette, with more punch in her voice, and HAPPY, and you're close to Katy Perry - but there aren't enough Extreme Makeovers in the world to make Alanis look like Katy :)
