We Are Not Well People

This is the long, hot summer between College Football last year, and College Football next year.

The other evening, Ethel and I were watching an episode of LOST online; during one of the commercial breaks (you can't get out of those by watching online :) we went to YouTube and watched a short clip of the Bear Bryant Show, from 1979 - it was the Sunday after the Iron Bowl (the Auburn-Alabama game) and there was much rejoicing and drinking of Coca-Cola and eating of Golden Flake potato chips.

...Okay, there was NOT much rejoicing. Bear wasn't one to make a big deal out of winning; as he liked to say, "Act as if you've been there before", and he had, most definitely, been there before.

We wound up watching several clips of long-past Alabama game highlights, and getting all excited about the fact that...the fact that...doggone it, it's still over two months until the first game of the season. I realized what we were doing, and I turned to Ethel and I said "Dear, we are not well people".

Most well people aren't hiding inside from 110+ F temps and watching old Bear Bryant Show clips. At least, I don't think so - if they are, then they aren't mentioning it.

BTW: Freckles is the hottest woman on TV and I predict that Saied (sp?) will kill Penny.

      i. Since I don't actually watch any TV, my selection is limited, but President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) is the hottest woman currently in any of the series that I watch (well, all three of them, whenever we get the DVDs
ii. Don't mention ANY plot points - Ethel and I are still many many episodes behind. But predicting that Sayid will kill ANYBODY is never a surprise.

I'm glad that we had this little talk.
