Gotta Get A Signal

Here I've got my Garmin 205 GPS sitting up on Jenny, one of our saguaros, aquiring a signal while I finish getting dressed for my morning run.

It takes me a long time, these days, to get ready for my morning run - so long that I'm surprised that it's still a 'morning' run. I'm having a lot of trouble in the mornings; for one thing, I'm waking up later. That, in itself, isn't a big deal, since I'm not lifting (these days) - however, it means that I'm often still in the house when Ethel gets up, and when THAT happens, Church Is Out. When Ethel wakes up, all progress STOPS.

I suppose that that's a good thing - I suspect that there are folks out there who don't want to spend all of their time with their spouses; who can operate completely independently. But not me - if she's in the room, then she's got my attention.

I'm just gonna have to start getting up earlier, so I can be out before she wakes up.

Hey, thanks for the idea to put the GPS thingie outside on its own to get a signal. While it took the 5 minutes to find the satellites (I'm down a canyon apparently), I finished getting ready for the actual run. No cactus here, so I had to use the porch railing as a not very photogenic substitute...

This is how we know that you aren't married with kids - you would have been forced into this time-saving pattern many years ago

BTW - I can no longer leave comments at the Daily Photo Shop - it won't let anybody but Blogger accounts comment. Dunno why.

referring to your comment, 'when Ethel is up she gets all your attention'. That's the way I am with Cody - it's not his fault. It's often necessary to say....."I'm gonna go get something done now". He often looks at me like, "ok....". His look is like, 'is there a reason why she's telling me this'.
