These Blueprints Ain't Blue

The builder of the new house came by yesterday to do an inspection on our home (I reckon that, if you're a contractor, you don't hire folks to do your inspections - you can figure out that stuff on your own) and to talk over issues with Ethel. He also brought the blueprints for the new house.

The blueprints are pretty big - I'd say close to 4 feet long by 3 feet wide. This is just a pic of the elevation detail - there are probably twenty or more pages in toto; all sorts of construction details that seem really cool when you're a software guy.

Now we've run into a bit of a bump in this home purchase; I'm not sure how big a bump it is, and I don't care. As soon as I see a bump, I figure that it might - just might - be God telling me "Don't do that, Jim" and I stop all forward motion. Cease, desist, kaput; one thing I do NOT want to do is push any issues at all.

So I immediately said "Well, okay - I can forget about that. The good news is that I won't have to go through all of the house-buying stuff - I won't have to move, I won't be strapped for cash, I won't have to teach the dogs how to use a radio fence (again)" - yeah, no doubt some of that is just whistling in the dark, but the main point is that I don't want to focus on trying to do ANYTHING that ain't easy. (BTW - by "easy" I don't mean 'doesn't involve effort' - I mean 'doesn't involve self-will'. A very definite distinction :)

So - as of RIGHT NOW - I'm not buying the house in New River. That may very well change; but it will only change if the bump in the road gets flattened out without my having to exert my will or act on my desires. I think the operative phrase is "Thy will, not mine, be done...Amen."

Besides - I ain't sure that I feel comfortable buying a house that was built using BLACKprints....
